Vincenzo Bellini

Vincenzo Bellini was born in Catania, Sicily November 3rd, 1801. Bellini was fortunate enough to be born into a musical family. Legend has it that Bellini could sing at eighteen months, began studying music theory at two years, could play the piano by five, and was working on his first composition by six years of age. Whether this is actuality or not, Bellini did begin to compose and play music at a young age. Bellini was educated at the Naples conservatory in Italy.
