Second Hand Smoking

Secondhand smoking is one of the leading killers of young and old. A rising problem is that a good percent of teenagers are not excelling in schools. Secondhand smoking can cause downfall in school, sickness, and peer-pressure. These reasons are three of the main problems among teens all around the world.
A new study into Adolescent health showed that teens that smoke or is a victim of secondhand smoking are at risk of failing not only on test but in all subjects in school. First of all, today teens are becoming involved with smoking or other bad habits. Going around their friends smoking not only puts themselves at risk but also their friends. When they come to school they have smoke on their mind or they have the scent on them. That causes distraction for their fellow classmates and the teacher. This also leads to failure in the classroom.
Sickness is another effect from secondhand smoking. Smoking causes respiratory problems and can cause asthma or bronchitis. When people blow out the smoke it can get in someone’s eyes and sometimes causing them to turn red. Red eyes cause itchiness and pain leading to problems seeing. A lethal disease that can come from smoking is Cancer. Cancer will change a person’s life because of being sick all the time and having to go through all the treatment. Teenagers wouldn’t really be able to stay concentrated on their school work while going through this problem.
Peer pressure is also involved with secondhand smoking. Teens who are smoking try to convince their peers to try it. Smoking may not make you dumb but it’s very addictive and causes teens to cut school and set themselves up for failure. Those who do this act have a hard time trying to change their lives.
Teenagers should not smoke nor be around those who do smoke. Staying away from secondhand smoking will help teens concentrate more on their education and help them live a healthier life. Teens will come to school more if they...
