Verizon

Verizon Communications Inc.

The company I am conducting my research on is Verizon Communications Inc. I chose Verizon because the company is definitely a part of my life. My father, mother, brother, sister, an aunt and an uncle all have jobs with Verizon. I have been familiar with the company for as long as I can remember since both my parents worked with the company for over 20 years, so I figured it would be a good company to base my research on since I am already surrounded by it.
While gathering my research I found it very interesting that Verizon gets so involved with surrounding communities and the environment. Verizon is beginning to switch all their company vehicles to hybrid so they will be emitting less fuel emissions. Verizon also restored 25 acres of wetlands on it's campus in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, helping protect the drinking water of 800,000 people and winning an Environmental Excellence award in the process (Verizon).
Verizon Communications, Inc. provides communication services in the United States and internationally. It operates in two segments, Wireline and Domestic Wireless. The Wireline segment provides voice, video, and data services to residential and small business customers in 28 states and Washington D.C. (yahoo). Verizon’s purpose is to provide top quality service to all of its customers. Numbers show it has the nation’s largest and most reliable service to help satisfy its customers. The company is always advancing itself and its technology to continue to be the nation’s leader of service.
