Sula
In Toni Morrison’s novel entitled “Sula”, there were many other important
characters besides Sula. The character in this book I would like to focus on most is Eva
Peace. A lot of Eva’s characteristics and actions exemplify all of the necessary elements
associated with “the cult of true womanhood” theme. In Morrison’s novel, Eva’s
personality instills piety, domesticity, obedience, and purity. I think Eva is a very positive
portrayal of a woman. Although she was disabled, she was not weak. Being a black
woman, her color was an issue that could have been considered...
