Genetic Engineering
Genetic Engineering: Is it Right or Wrong?
Genetic engineering is against God's plan. God made every human being to be unique, original, and different. Choosing the traits and outcome of a child's life ruins everything that God had intended for them to be. Genetic engineering has the possibility and the power to change the world, for the worst.
Scientists have dug deep into the world of biotechnology. They have found that the introduction of genetic engineering of plants and animals into the environment raises concerns about the potential dangers of human consumption of GM foods. They say that these organisms have the ability to spread their modified genes into native populations, thereby disrupting natural ecosystems. Although, there is still a great deal that remains to be discovered, we can infer that genetic engineering can and will change and destroy our society.
Imagine living in a community where everyone looks the same, everyone has blonde hair and blue eyes, and everyone talks and acts the same. This type of society completely contradicts the way God planned for our world to be. The process of genetic engineering, strips away the uniqueness and originality of a person. If we allow biotechnology to take over out world, we will be living in a society that is uninteresting and plain.
Think about the children that parents are shaping and molding by the process of genetic engineering. Is it really fair to that child? A child that has been purposely made blind, deaf, or whatever the parent has decided for them, has been restricted from living their own life. By their traits and characteristics being chosen, they are not able to live up to the full potential that they could have. The child has no control on how he or she lives their life, because the parents decided for them before they were even born. Genetically engineering a child is like having a planner for that baby from day one until the day they die. They can not erase...
