Being a young adult in this generation can seem to get tougher and tougher each day. A lot of kids now deal with more life changing situations than their parents did when they were young. Some parents don't realize what's really going on in their child's life outside of the home which keeps them concerned about their kids social lives. It usually forces them to snoop around their kids personal things when they're not around. That's why some kids now just look at their parent as a person who tells them what to do, and not as a friend who can help them. They feel that they can't tell the truth, because they'd get nagged at, their parents holding it against them, and in all just jumping on their backs about it. Kids who think of their parents like that are sometimes the ones who get into trouble a lot inside or out their homes. Kids now just want their privacy and their parents to stay off their cases. They usually get afraid of losing their privileges like: driving, talking on the phone, going out with friends, using the internet at home. It all seems to push them to lie to their parents instead of just telling them the real deal. Numerous reasons play a role when a child lies to his or her parents.
Lying to a parent always has its ups and downs depending on what it is that the kid lied about. Maybe getting into trouble in school or with the law makes a good reason to tell a tale to their parents. Sometimes a child feels they have to tell their parents, but they might be so ashamed of what they did, it pushes them to lie. When a child is so afraid of what their parents might do to them it can push them down the wrong path in life. There are a lot of situations in which a child feels what their parents won't know will not hurt them. But then they sometimes realize how much they love their parents and how deceiving it may be to not tell them the truth.
